Starburst Card
This card is a variation on one that I learned from an OWH Stars & Stamps Tutorial. I altered it slightly and used this design at my recent OWH Cardmaking Party.
Let’s start with the supply list:
Sentiment stamp; SU! Chocolate Chip ink; sponge; ribbon, dimensional adhesive; glue dots; 8 designer paper triangles*; designer paper rectangle 1.5″ x 5″; solid cardstock mat 4″ x 5.25″; white cardstock for sentiment; solid cardstock mat for sentiment; scrap cardstock rectangle 2.25″ x 5″; scrap designer paper; small heart punch; sharp scissors; card base
*Note: the patterned paper triangles are created by cutting paper into a 1.5″ x 4″ rectangle, then cutting it in half diagonally to create two rectangles.
Select triangles in colors of your choice – mix and match your patterns. Sponge the long edges of each triangle with Chocolate Chip ink. Carefully adhere the sponged triangles onto the scrap cardstock rectangle in a starburst pattern.
Now flip this piece over and trim off the excess patterned paper of the triangles where it hangs over the edge of the rectangle. Flip it back over and sponge around the trimmed edges.
Sponge around the edges of both solid color cardstock mats. Adhere the starburst panel to the upper half of the solid cardstock mat. Sponge around the edges of the patterned paper rectangle, and adhere it to the lower half of the cardstock mat.
Stamp your sentiment on the white cardstock rectangle the sponge the edges of it, before adhering to its solid color mat. Punch a heart from a scrap of patterned paper and adhere it onto the sentiment piece.
Cut ribbon to about 7 inches and adhere across the card front, adding on a tied knot from another short length of ribbon. Using dimensional adhesives, adhere the sentiment piece over the ribbon in the center of the card.
Sponge around the edges of a white cardbase, then adhere card front to base to complete the card.
