Punch Art Ladybug Card
This is a great little card for kids and adults alike. I designed this card for an Operation Write Home cardmaking event, and it is easily reproduced in multiples.
Let’s start with the supplies needed:
Red cardstock mat 4″ x 5.25″, black cardstock strip 2.5″ x 5.25″, coordinating designer paper strip 2″ x 5.25″, black cardstock square 2.75″ x 2.75″, yellow designer paper square 2.5″ x 2.5″, black scrap cardstock for punching, red scrap cardstock for punching, googly eyes, 2″ scallop circle punch, 1 3/4″ circle punch, 1 1/4″ circle punch, slot punch, small circle punch (notebook type hole punch), glue stick or other adhesive, black ink, hello sentiment, card base
Using black ink, stamp sentiment in lower right corner of yellow designer paper square. Mat square with black cardstock square. Mat designer paper strip with black cardstock strip. Adhere this matted strip horizontally to the center of the large cardstock mat. Adhere matted yellow square to the center. Adhere the matted pieces to the front of a card base.
To create ladybug, punch one black 1 3/4 circle, one black 1 1/4 inch circle, two black slot punches, and two red scalloped circles. Fold scalloped circles in half. Adhere smaller black circle to larger black circle, leaving about 1/2 of the smaller circle visible to create the head. Adhere folded red scalloped circles at an angle onto body to create wings. Adhere punched slots to underside of head, sticking out to create antennae.
Punch a dozen or so black cardstock circles with the small notebook hole punch. Adhere two of these to the ends of the antennae. Adhere remainder randomly onto wings. Adhere googly eyes to head.
Adhere ladybug to card, perching her on the left side of the yellow designer paper square.
