OWH Birthday Bash Blog Skip with Perfect Paper Crafting!
Hello there! This is our fourth and final Birthday Bash Blog Skip to celebrate OWH’s birthday month of September! Today we’re skipping with the folks from Perfect Paper Crafting. If you arrived here from Eva’s blog, then you’re in the right place! If not, be sure and go back to the start at OWH Stars & Stamps.
I have had a set of Perfect Layers tools for years now and I love them for helping make easy layers for cards. If you aren’t familiar with them, they basically act as spacers allowing you to create mats without having to measure each layer. I find them helpful for some of my stamped images that stamp an odd size.
For example, this beautiful stamp from Crafty Individuals stamps an odd size, but it was easy to make both the black mat and the patterned paper mat without measuring anything by using my Perfect Layers.
This is a tweaked version of OWH sketch #71. I used water and ink to make a mottled background and then stamped the image on it with archival black ink. Some layers and ribbon and here comes Santa! Here’s a picture of the tool in action, giving me a 1/8 mat around the stamped image which I easily cut with a craft knife:
How about one more card? This one also has lots of layers!
This is a Technique Tuesday stamp that I watercolored with inks and an aqua brush. Again, some bold layering and a bit of ribbon and it’s ready for my OWH box! This one uses OWH sketch #113.
That’s all I have for you today but you do have one last stop to complete the skip – Sandy over at OWHtv! She’s gonna make a card from start to finish!
The patterned paper on both of these cards was donated to me for OWH cardmaking so I don’t have source information on it. The blue inks used on both cards are retired Stampin’ Up! Bashful Blue and Brocade Blue. Everything else is linked up below!
