OWH Stamper’s Best Animal Pun Blog Skip!
Hi Y’all! This is the last stop on the blog skip (aka a small blog hop) featuring the really cute new stamps that Stamper’s Best is launching for an Operation Write Home fundraiser. Isn’t that great of them? We love you, Stamper’s Best! If you just got here, go back to OWH Stars & Stamps to start at the beginning of the skip – so many cute cards to see!
I made two cards to share for this skip. In this first card, I colored the minnow with Copics in a dot pattern to mimic spots or scales on fish. I cut him out and mounted him on dimensional tape. The other stamps in the set provided the sentiment, the bubbles, and the waves stamped on the cardstock in the background. The layout is from an OWH sketch – #105.
For my second card, I used my favorite of the three new sets… Turtley Awesome! (Seriously, I’ve been going around saying that for a week now, it cracks me up!) For my awesome turtle I decided to use the paper piecing technique with some fun, brightly colored papers. I also added a little clear laquer on his eyes. This layout is another OWH sketch – #157.
If you want to pick up your own sets of these adorable stamps and help out OWH a little bit at the same time, click here to shop at Stamper’s Best! And don’t forget, these sets are buy two get the third one free! I know y’all love a good deal
Thanks so much for joining us today! I hope you enjoyed the cards!

Adorable cards! I love how you used your Copics to make the scales and the subtle stamped waves really give the feel of the fish underwater. Your polka dot turtle is very cute. Love the sketch you used with the addition of the yellow twine.

I love the idea of doing dots like scales on the fish. I can’t wait to try that when my little minnow arrives. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Julie! Both of your cards are adorable! I’m definitely going to have to try paper piecing more often! Great layouts on both cards – the big sentiment bubble for the minnow card looks awesome. Thanks for all of your hard work setting up the hop (and getting me back on track after I blew my posting!).

Your cards are wonderful. Love how you colored the fish – makes it look like the sunlight is reflecting off of it and the water and adds an element of movement. And how you made his bubbles into a big thought bubble is so creative and the papers you chose for the flags just tie it all together. And your paper-pieced turtle is just too cute – great color and paper choices on this. Thank you for sharing these & for all you do for OWH!

Oh my goodness…I am so in love with this paper piecing technique. I am going to HAVE to try it soon! Love your cards…they’re turtley awesome! lol

I really like how you used the wave and bubble stamps on your minnow card and made the biggest “bubble” hold your sentiment. The wave stamp was stumping me, but you’ve provided the inspiration! That’s what I love about blog skips/hops and all the fun things we do with OWH. Thanks for organizing the skip – it was tons of fun!
