Hi!

Hello all! I have a fun card to share today, and it uses Christmas papers on a non-Christmas card! I love finding ways to extend my paper supply like this.

I made this card for the Haughton House, we’ll be making it in our January card class.  It uses new Hero Arts frame cut dies and a new Hero Arts stamp set as well.

Also, this card has an analogous color scheme, which you can learn about in the Operation Write Home Design Bootcamp series that started today! Paula has done a great job preparing the material and I’m not just saying that because she used one of my cards for a sample ;) So today’s card is my “homework” for this week’s lesson!

About this card:  The sentiment from Hero Arts Hexagons set is stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with Ranger detail silver embossing powder, then die cut using the Hero Arts Geometric Shapes Frame Cuts die.   I die cut more hexagons from my patterned paper, and some diamonds for the leaves.  All the paper is from We R Memory Keepers Winter Frost collection.

This is most interesting in color, but mostly in the shapes layered. I am learning so much!

Very pretty! Love how you used the hexagon die cuts to build the lovely flower.

The hexagons give this such a nice, detailed look. I like the touch of lavender in the background paper. I’d probably classify it as an ‘extended’ analogous scheme since it extends the range from yellow-green to purple. I’m sure your students are gonna love this one! Thanks for letting me use your sample in this class too. :)

    Julie,

This is so pretty. I love the color palette. I also love how you crafted such a lovely flower from hexagons and diamonds. :)
