OWH Sketch Challenge 104
So far this year I am managing to keep up with the sketches! This one is from Sunday, sketch #104. I was really inspired by one of the cards I saw linked up to the challenge, this one by Maureen. I loved the bright red flowers on the text background.
I went for my old Faulkner paperback that I am slowly putting to better use and I came up with this… and it only took me six tries to get a half-decent bow, lol!

About this card: The butterflies are from the Inkadinkado set “Nature” and are stamped in Stampin’ Up! Real Red ink on my old book page. I accented them with tiny adhesive pearls. The red cardstock is from Bazzill. The narrow red ribbon is from SU! The black cardstock is more Bazzill and it is dry embossed with a Cuttlebug folder on my Big Shot.

Gorgeous! I need to find an old book to destroy. Wait, that sounds bad…

Julie,
This is simply beautiful!
Using an old book as an embellishment — who knew? Guess you really do learn something new every day!
Thanks for sharing!

I love the age of the book pages- so lovely against the red!

I just love how you varied the position of the butterfly across the square in this. It really adds a feeling of movement and that embossing folder is gorgeous (and one I don;t think I’ve ever seen before). Great card Julie!
